MSCORLIB.TLB when loading Management studio

Problem: MSCORLIB.TLB when loading Management studio.
Problem: When starting MSSQL Management Studio you get the following: 

The file C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\[][][\mscorlib.tlb could not be loaded. An attempt to repair this condition failed because the file could not be found.  Please reinstall this program


Note:  Clicking [OK] will start and allow you to use the Management Studio without errors.
Cause: Path is corrupted by odd characters between the Framework and mscorlib.tlb.
Fix: Run repair from the P6 installation disk and/or reinstall the Version 2 .NET library to fix this condition.

Steps:


  1. From the P6 6.2x installation media Client_Applications folder.

  2. Go to sqlserver, Framework and run the dotnetfx.exe.

  3. Choose Repair.

Note:  Reboot is not required, reopen Management Studio and if error is fixed it will load normally.  If the repair fails to resolve remove and reinstall .Net
