"Error 193: 0xc1" when starting SQL server service

Problem: “Error 193: 0xc1″ when starting SQL server service.
Problem: SQL server service fails to start.
Cause: An application\program (not Primavera related) may have created a file named “Program”.

Example:


Executed C:\Program Files…without quotes from the command line and this has created a file by name “program” in C:
Fix: On the database server, search for a file named ”Program” (no extension).  This file is usually on the root of the drive, (i.e. C:\).   Delete (or rename) this file as it will cause the SQL server service to not start.
