Prerequisites

This Primavera service pack can be applied to any P6 version 6.1 deployment, including previous service packs and fix packs.

Issues Resolved by SP2

Activities

· prim72736: Constraint Date does not appear after selecting a constraint.
After selecting a constraint for an activity, the Constraint date does not appear.

Resources

· prim71501: Unable to edit information within the middle pane of the Resource Usage Spreadsheet.
In the middle pane of the Resource Usage spreadsheet, data, such as Original Duration, is not editable.

Fixes and New Features from Previous Service Packs and Fix Packs

This service pack includes fixes and new features from previous 5.0, 6.0 and 6.1 service packs and fix packs, as described below. For details, refer to the solution ID in the Primavera Knowledge Base.

Apply Actuals

· prim62699: Running Apply Actuals sets activities to have a review status of “For Review”, even though the project does not use Timesheets.

· prim62955: Running Apply Actuals places actuals after the Data Date.

Activities

· prim39363: Is it possible to edit Activity IDs for only certain WBSs, without having rights to edit the Activity IDs for the entire project?

· prim48569: Scrolling through the Activity list using the Up/Down arrow keys does not work properly if the Steps or Notebook tab is open.

· prim62685: Incorrect Column options are available in the Assign Predecessors window

Baselines

· prim45105: Update baseline hangs at a certain percent and never completes.

· prim63213: Activities showing incorrect baseline dates when multiple projects are opened within P6.

· prim69633: Update Baseline UDF check box option.
New options have been added to the Update Baseline dialog box. This new feature allows users to choose whether to update the UDFs in a baseline. Users can pick and choose what types of UDFs to update. By default, these boxes are unchecked, so users will need to check them to include UDFs in the update. This feature, along with other performance enhancements, decreases the Update Baseline running time.

Compression Server

· prim70707: PRM_APPLICATION_EVENT not getting client IP address passed to it when using Compression Server.

Contract Manager

· prim66189: Activity data improperly updated when importing SOV (Requisition) data from Contract Manager.

Copy/Paste

· prim35175: When pasting an EPS node that includes projects, there is no option to exclude summary data.
When pasting EPS nodes that include projects, summary data is always excluded. However, the summary data for an EPS node is not deleted when you Deleted Project Summaries on the node, only the summary data for the projects beneath the EPS node is deleted. 
A new option has been added to the Copy Project wizard that asks the user whether they want to copy summary data.

· prim38259: When copying a project the Date Added column does not always change to the current date

Future Period Buckets

· prim63651: Future Bucket spread data does not refresh properly

Job Services

· prim52545: Insufficient Memory for Operation error in Job Services

· prim59457: String list does not allow duplicates error in Job Services when Summarizing

Language Support

· prim62374: Japanese, Global Change displays incorrect drop down menu

LDAP Referrals

· Support for LDAP referrals has been added. LDAP referral is a method for a domain controller to indicate to a client application that it does not have a copy of a requested object, and giving the client a location where the object might be found. The client can then use DNS to search for it.

Layouts

· prim62122: Black curtain appears and cannot be deleted.

· prim66347: Layouts cannot be saved as the same name.

· prim71373: With certain security profiles the save layout button is disabled when it should be enabled.

· prim71374: Cannot delete Global Layout in Resource Assignments View when global privilege "Add/Edit Global Project/WBS Layouts & Portfolio views" is revoked.

· prim71375: Cannot save Project Specific Layout.

Methodology Management

· prim61251: Notebook topics do not get copied when copying a methodology to a new methodology.

Performance

· prim66723: Slow login performance due to Resource Summary data created by baselines

Projects

· prim29247: Not being prompted on whether to copy Responsible Manager down to children levels of WBS when copying/pasting WBS levels from one project to another.

Applying the Patch

To upgrade, do the following on every client machine:

1. Close all Primavera client applications.

2. If Primavera Job Service is running, end the service by accessing Windows Administrative Tools/Services.

3. Download or copy the patch zip file (6.1SP2_InstallFiles.zip), and extract its contents, which includes the setup.exe file.

4. Run the setup program and follow the steps presented by the installation wizard.

5. Go to Updating the Primavera Database.

Updating the Primavera Database

Apply the following scripts to update various Primavera stored procedures. You should also run these scripts if you create any new 6.1 databases after upgrading to SP2.

Note: If you customized any scripts, make backup copies of the customized versions before running these update scripts, then customize the updated scripts, as required, and run them.

For SQL Server:

a. Log on to the PMDB database as a system administrator (for example, SA).

b. Run ss_cpdp.sql (see prim35175 for details.) This script updates the copy/paste stored procedure.

c. Log on to the MASTER database as a system administrator (for example, SA).

d. Run the script ss_grant.sql. This script grants privileges to privuser.

For Oracle:

a. Log on to the PMDB database as an administrative user (for example, ADMUSER).

b. Run or_cpdp.sql (see prim35175 for details.) This script updates the copy/paste stored procedure.

Updating the LDAP Configuration Wizard

The service pack includes an updated LDAP Configuration wizard, which you can use to enable, and modify, LDAP referrals. Do the following to install the updated wizard:

1. Copy the following folder from your 6.1 base media to your local drive:

<CD1>/Bin/install/database//ldap-config/

2. Unzip 6.1SP2_InstallFiles.zip and replace the LDAPCfgWiz.exe in the following folder on your local drive:

<CD1>/Bin/install/database/ldap-config/

Enabling or Modifying LDAP Referrals

After installing and configuring all other components included in this service pack, you can use the Authentication Configuration wizard to enable or modify LDAP referrals. To do so:

1. Ensure that the Project Management and Methodology Management modules are configured to use LDAP authentication. To do so:

a. On the server where the modules are installed, run:

\Program Files\Common Files\Primavera Common\Java\admin.cmd

a. Ensure that the following setting has the value LDAP:

Configurations/Custom/INTERNAL_PLUGINS/Authentication/Mode

3. Run the LDAPCfgWiz.exe included with this service pack.

4. On the Setup Database Alias screen, select the database alias you want to provision LDAP information for, then type the database user name and password.

5. On the Authentication Mode or Import User Information screen, select Configure an authentication mode.

6. On the Select Authentication Mode screen, choose LDAP for the Client Server and Web modules.

7. On the Configure LDAP Servers screen, add a new server, or select an existing server where you want to enable referrals.

8. To enable referrals, on the General tab, mark Chase Referrals.

9. Continue with the wizard, as appropriate for your configuration.
